Titusville Area Hospital emphasized the importance of early detection and screenings. In partnership with TAH, the Titusville Area Health Center Foundation proudly sponsors the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund (BCAF), which allows TAH to provide free mammograms to underinsured and uninsured patients in the TAH service area. Should any concerns arise from the screening mammograms, the BCAF also covers the costs of necessary diagnostic tests, including additional mammograms and ultrasounds conducted at TAH.
To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, TAH held a fundraiser for the program within the Titusville Area Health Center Foundation. Tammie Cornell, a TAH employee, donated an outdoor pink chair to symbolize our commitment to this important cause. The chair was in the lobby during the month of October for the public to purchase raffle tickets to win.
The winner, Debbie Hindman, was drawn on October 30. $1,317.20 was raised for BCAF. We thank everyone who bought tickets and gave to this amazing cause.
“The Breast Cancer Awareness Fund is such an important program at TAH and helps many patients in the area. We are so thankful for all the support during this fundraiser to help us continue to provide these necessary services.” said Holli Wolfe, Vice President of Operations at TAH.
The BCAF aims to eliminate financial barriers for those who are uninsured or underinsured, helping to decrease the incidence of advanced breast cancer in our community. We encourage women aged 40 and older to adhere to annual screening guidelines as recommended by healthcare providers. Early detection is vital for improving prognosis and treatment outcomes.
