Titusville Area Hospital (TAH) Emergency Department Manager, Kim Combs,
RN, CRNP, recently completed the National Rural Health Association’s
(NRHA) Rural Hospital Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Certification Program.
The course consisted of 27 participants from across the country.
The Rural Hospital CNO Certification Program was developed by CNO’s
and assists rural hospitals in strengthening leadership skills in current
and future CNO’s. According to Alan Morgan, CEO of the NRHA, “Leadership
is the biggest predictor of rural hospital success.”
Following the upcoming retirement of Brenda Burnett, Kim will assume the
CNO position at TAH. “As Kim steps into her new position she will
be able to utilize these leadership skills at TAH and help lead with success.
During this time of uncertainty and challenges, we need our hospital to
have strong leadership. The NRHA’s Rural Hospital CNO Certification
Program has offered key skills to our new CNO, Kim Combs. We are sure
that she will step into this position with the confidence and abilities
required for the CNO position,” states Lee Clinton, CEO at TAH.
